The Awards

• (1) Best Release of the Year, (2) Independent Debut Recording of the Year, (3) Artist of the Year, and (4) ACT Music ACT Music Industry Industry Legend of the Year.

• Nominees are considered for the period 1 November 2022 to 1 November 2023.

• All three awards are nominated by and then voted on by MusicACT’s MusicPro members.

• MusicACT will determine the short list of nominees for each award, (min 4 max 6), based on the number if individual nominations per nominee and the reasons given on the nomination forms.

The Induction

• MusicACT Hall of Fame Inductee invited by the MusicACT Committee.

Nomination and Voting Eligibility

• All awardees and inductees must be ACT based.

• Only MusicPro Members can nominate and vote on the three MAMAs. All non-member voters will be signed up for a free MusicPro membership as a condition of nominating and/or voting.

• The Nominee shortlist will be determined by the number of nominations in conjunction with the reasons provided, reviewed by the MusicACT management committee.

• The Nominee shortlist, when announced, is final. This list is not subject to change post announcement.

• Nominations open 19 Oct and close 1 Nov.

MusicPro Voting

• Voting for MusicPros opens 3 November and closes 21 November.

• Votes are cast preferentially under an Instant Runoff Voting system.

  • Voters in IRV elections rank the candidates in order of preference. Ballots are initially counted for each voter's top choice. If a candidate has more than half of the vote based on first-choices, that candidate wins. If not, then the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated, and the voters who selected the defeated candidate as a first choice then have their votes added to the totals of their next choice. This process continues until a candidate has more than half of the votes.
