Jonathan Boulet

From the heart of Sydney’s underground, Jonathan Boulet operates as a definitive multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and audio engineer. Embracing a fiercely independent, DIY and holistic approach to creation, Boulet built his reputation by writing, performing and producing his solo work entirely outside traditional studio walls. Today, his sonic craftsmanship fuels the high-energy output of bands like Party Dozen and ARSE, the latest chapters of a journey that has seen him take stages alongside the likes of Tame Impala, Beach House and Amyl and the Sniffers while releasing music on labels such as Modular, Temporary Residence and City Slang.

Driven by a drummer’s instinct, his engineering signature is defined by heavy, commanding rhythms, layered multi-tracking, and a sonic evolution that spans from ambient soundscapes to massive, distorted noise-rock textures. Boulet remains a vital architect of Sydney’s independent scene, balancing creative microphone techniques with high-energy mixing to capture the raw, unyielding dynamics of live performance.
