Justin Heazlewood aka The Bedroom Philosopher confirmed as Smells Like Centenary Spirit MC

The Bedroom Philosopher is an award winning muso-comic who’s Triple J hit ‘Northcote (So Hungover)’ is the hipster Khe Sahn. Last year the former Frankie scribe released his first book ‘The Bedroom Philosopher Diaries,’ earning high praise from Neil Gaiman. This year he has produced two Station IDs for ABC2 including the highly respected ‘Difficult Second Channel.’ His ARIA nominated album ‘Songs From The 86 Tram’ was Chris Lilley meets Beck, the live show winning Director’s Choice at Melbourne Comedy Festival and the Green Room award for Best Production.

The Bedroom Philosopher has appeared on Adam Hills Tonight, Spicks & Specks, Collectors, Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala & most importantly, Rage. Last year he supported The Dresden Dolls on a national tour, prompting Amanda Palmer to say “He is so hip he is absolutely not hip at all.”

He is currently writing a book about being an artist in Australia called Funemployed, to be published by Affirm Press next year.

Smells Like Centenary Spirit will be held at the Royal Theatre on November 15.
